The Sky Is The Limit: The Notorious B.I.G. May 21, 1972-March 9, 1997

“If the game shakes me or breaks me
I hope it makes me a better man
Take a better stand
Put money in my mom’s hand
Get my daughter this college plan, so she don’t need no man
Stay far from timid
Only make moves when ya heart’s in it
And live the phrase Sky’s The Limit”

–Christopher Wallace/The Notorious B.I.G.

"lyrically I'm supposed to represent. I'm not only a client, I'm the player president"- One More Chance

With Big, you can see that life is all about desire, using despair as motivation, talent as your tool, and circumstance as your canvas. He also showed that you can always progress. Not matter your history.

    Livin' life without fear
Puttin' 5 karats in my baby girl's ears
Lunches, brunches, interviews by the pool
Considered a fool 'cause I dropped out of high school
Stereotypes of a black male misunderstood
    And it's still all good

    Notorious B.I.G.- "Juicy"

What I learned from this lyric and his lyrics in general were that people doubted and stereotyped him when he was growing up. But he shook it all off and kept his focus on the things that were important to him, like family and friends. I feel like that's important because people can be distracted and discouraged by negativity, especially African American males in society. If you have a set goal that you want to achieve, that negativity can be channeled and you can use that negativity to push yourself even harder.

Can you imagine all of the hot joints that Biggie would have been on. Imagine him on Renegade with Jigga and EM, or get em High with Kanye???? EWWWWWW

I didn't really have a specific lyric that I liked, but I was fond of the storytelling talents of Biggie. He told a great story.
