Remember Forever the 4th of April

On April 4, 1968 an assassin’s bullet ended the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  While the man was silenced, the spirit of the civil rights movement grew stronger still and the clergyman’s dream continues to inspire a nation even today–42 years after his untimely death.

Welcome To The New World

Somewhere between kindergarten and the high school graduation stage, students in U.S. schools learn that “in 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue.”  This rhyme is so important in fact, that in 1971 President Richard Nixon declared the second Monday in October a national Holiday.
